Henry is the director and instructor of the Quillen School. He has taught a wide variety of classes, ranging from Ancient Greek or philosophy to American constitutionalism or international relations, both online and in the classroom, from middle grades to PhD students and late-in-life learners. He has been teaching in some capacity or another since 2017.
Prior to founding the Quillen School, Henry was a teacher of Founders Classical Academy of Leander, where he taught upper school U.S. History and U.S. Government and tutored eighth-graders in Ancient Greek.
Henry earned an M.A. in Government from the University of Texas at Austin in 2020 after having submitted a Master’s Report on the intersection of politics, economics, religion, and philosophy in Aristotle’s Politics I.8–11. Before that, he earned a B.A. with a major in Government and a minor in Mathematics from Morehead State University, a small public school in Eastern Kentucky. Since leaving the University of Texas at Austin, Henry has spent nearly 175 hours in formalized private or small-group instruction in the communicative use of Ancient Greek, and hundreds more practicing in informal groups or teaching students.
Henry is currently interested in Aristotle, Plato, Xenophon, Aristophanes, the New Testament, the Church Fathers, and especially the writing and communicative use of the Greek language. He is also learning Latin.
Henry is from a small town in the Appalachian region of Eastern Kentucky. He now lives with his wife, Katie, and daughter, Portia, in central Texas.
